Bachelor's degree in Chemical Sciences (Industrial Chemistry) at the Universidad Autónoma de BARCELONA (UAB) and has a doctorate in biotechnology (1995). Associate Professor of chemical engineering and former director (2003-2006) of the Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA) at the UAB. He is currently the Academic Secretary of the Doctoral School (2013). He has specialised in teaching and research in the field of environmental engineering in the degrees of environmental sciences and chemical engineering, as well as in the programs of Master and doctorate of Bioctecnologia, environmental sciences and environmental studies. Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Engenharia Civil (DECiv), Graduaçao-Pós em Engenharia (April-September 2007). Coordinator at UAB in the Joint European Master programme in Environmental Studies (JEMES) (October 2007-2010). He is the head researcher of the research group on sustainability and environmental protection (SosteniPrA, SGR). His research in the Department of Chemical, biological and environmental engineering, and the ICTA over the past 15 years has focused on environmental biotechnology (waste treatment by fungi, ...), as well asindustrial ecology, urban sustainability indicators, sustainability, materials flows of energétics crops, environmental protection, waste management and environmental assessment in the company. He has published more than 140 articles in indexed journals.
