Petra Schwager has more than 20 years of experience in the development and management of industrial resource efficiency and cleaner production programs in developing countries and economies in transition.
She continuously explores innovative concepts to respond to the emerging needs of the industry, particularly SMEs, and provides strategic and technical advice on different aspects of resource efficiency, sustainable industrial parks and circular economy. In 2015, she was appointed managing coordinator of the Programme for Country Partnerships - Peru, where she manages a multidisciplinary team of experts from UNIDO to develop and implement a comprehensive program in line with national objectives and the principles of Sustainable and Inclusive Industrial Development. She studied economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (Austria) and social sciences and environmental management at the University of London (United Kingdom). She is co- author of the “UNIDO International Guide for Industrial Parks”.
